erin & tom–engaged|nh wedding photographer

erin & tom live in philadelphia. they are getting married in the white mountains in nh this summer. but she grew up in western mass…
and with all those different places, and the crazy, conflicting schedules of three people to consider, it was in erin’s tiny hometown of wilbraham, massachussetts that we finally met in person to take some engagement pictures. (my parents live in upstate ny, and wilbraham is right off 90…so more than once i have met couples somewhere in-between.)

we met out in front of the town general store…a super cute cafe/convenience store/deli with squashy couches and chairs and a fridge in the back with fresh eggs.

look at those gorgeous eyes of hers!

smokin’!

erin & tom, i can’t wait to hang with you guys up in the mountains this summer…and i especially can’t wait for the seersucker suits. woo!

kate & chris–married|portland, maine wedding photographer

kate and chris got married at the delightful inn on peak’s island, and kirby with cityside events made sure the day flowed smoothly.

i LOVED kate’s glam retro styling…she looked super hot.

lily fiddlehead bouquet
kate had a GORGEOUS bouquet…i love those purply black fiddleheads and of course…don’t forget the hot shoes!

while the girls were all getting pretty, the guys were having a little absinthe toast in the other room.

kate and her dad had everyone’s eyes leaking all day long…while they shared that last special moment, chris was eagerly anticipating seeing his bride.

first there’s the shock and awe, and then there’s the “HECK YEAH…that’s MY LADY!”

and on her end there’s the “keep it together, kate”, and “aaaah…there he is. everything’s perfect.” you know the phrase “only had eyes for him/her”…these two modeled that all day long.

“hydration”…always helps during the formal hour.

one of my favourite things about shooting at the inn on peak’s island is when we get to go down to the beach to shoot.

don’t the guys look so gq?

and the ladies just look…pretty!

this is probably my favourite image from the whole entire day.

first dance

i love parent dances…particularly when the sweet song stops in the middle and daddy and his little girl break into “who let the dogs out”.

after the parent dances, everyone got their boogie on!

i emailed kate the other day to tell her that she was famous again (she’s in my new blog header), and she informed me that she and chris have decided that when it’s baby time…i am taking their maternity and baby pictures…my response to that is…i’d BETTER be!  😀  they’ve got a super cute new website (chris is all about the website building) that you can check out here.

their day and their friends were all super fun…and they’re one of those couples that make you go…i want THAT someday!

bartering!|portsmouth nh photography

so…i love the idea of bartering…no cash changing hands.  just…you’ve got skillz (or stuff)…i’ve got skillz…let’s trade!
if i’ve got something you want, and you think you might have something i’d want, feel free to suggest it!  i am definitely open to the idea (but i won’t hesitate to say, “i’m sorry…i am not interested in your 1984 delorean.  i prefer volkswagens.”)
things i’m currently interested in:

*seamstress services
*furniture (i’d be picky, though!)
*frequent flier miles!  (always.)
*beauty regime stuff (uh…haircuts/eyebrows/highlighting…etc.)
the way i do this is…i know the monetary value of my services/time…you figure out the monetary value of your product/service, and we swap.
NB:  please don’t suggest this to me if it is not your trade.  for instance, “i used a highlight cap once on my friend!” doesn’t count as being a qualified hairdresser.  😀  (though i’m sure your friend’s hair turned out nicely, and she was lucky to have you do it.)
and, because i am a photographer and this is my blog…here is a random photo from when i was in florida last october.
