gwyneth colleen photography » portland, or wedding photographer

thanks a lot…REALITY.

so, sarahkchen (a fellow wedding photographer and fantastic person) has a pretty incredible ring shot on her blog right now…it’s gotten a lot of compliments, and i was looking at it going…i could probably create an effect like that…i’d just have to ______ and then ______ and then do ________.

i was ALL SET to haul my butt off my chair and give it a whirl, and then i was like,

“oh.
oh yeah.  i don’t HAVE a big diamond to play around with.”

and then i returned to my regularly scheduled programming, which currently…is working on chris & kate’s photos from their peak’s island october wedding and avoiding doing my oh-so-hip-and-totally-2008-not-2000 tae-bo video, that i-don’t-care-what-you-say…it totally kicks my butt!  (and then i don’t have to leave the house.  it is grey and misty and foggy and rainy.

my favourite little person

this is hafrine anne miwwow.  she just turned 2.  and her baby brother, dosua dabid miwwow will be born in a couple weeks.

she regularly speaks to baby brother and gives him kisses…one day she told her mom, my friend becky, “dosua in mah belleh.”

she said, “no, joshua’s in MOMMY’S belly.”

so katherine amended her statement.  “i have a baby miwwow in mah belleh.”

my day was brightened today when becky told me katherine said, “dwin gived me twocket,” today in the car.  (i gave her a turtle after she more or less cooperated for the shoot.)  and she also has been asking, “where’s dwin?”  “where’s dwin’s tar?  bwack tar.”

she’s a funny kid, and i’m glad that i’ll be headed back down there once baby joshua makes his appearance to catalog his early days on earth.

teasers

i’m up to my eyeballs in processing…but i’ve got a few favourites to share with you from recent shoots.

in no particular order:

becky’s due date is in about 10 days.  we shot her maternity pictures yesterday morning in providence, ri.
the pose/location were my idea.  the graffiti’d belly was hers.  (though i found a graffiti font on dafont.com and executed it.)  it is so wildly creative and brilliant that i am a little resentful that i didn’t think of it myself.  oh well…collaborating on greatness is better than not being involved at all, right?

these are amy’s HOOOOTTTTT purple bridal shoes.  she and ben got married this past saturday at the glen manor house in portsmouth, ri.

this is from kate & chris’s wedding at peak’s island in portland, me.  it was a last minute just-one-more, i-know-everyone’s-waiting! shot…but i’m SO glad we took that minute.

eric and marguerite are my landlords/housemates…we did an action/adventure themed engagement session about a month ago, now…stay tuned, because they are FUN!

and last (for this post) but not least…a super cute ring shot from rob & ali’s campground wedding in maine.  that’s next up on the list, so you shouldn’t have to wait long to see those!
