retroblogging: ashlee + jesse: married

hi there…delinquent blogger here again.

ashlee + jesse are amazing and awesome and some of my favorites.  (i have a lot of favorites, bc i firmly believe that only awesome people hire me.  which, y’know, i’m pretty much fine with!)  also, i highly, highly recommend them as friends…esp getting beer and tacos at agave on monday nights.  they have THE BEST STORIES EVAR.

ashlee got ready at the always fabulous hawthorne hotel, they were married at jesse’s alma-mater st. john’s prep, and they had their reception at the peabody-essex museum, which is truly fantastic!  the day was coordinated flawlessly by unique weddings by alexis, the florals were executed by flowers by darlene, alan with elegant entertainment kept the dance floor hoppin’, and everyone’s favorite part of a wedding…the cake! came from montilio’s.  and i can’t forget sam!  samantha of every little moment photography came all the way from utah to help me capture this awesome day.  thanks sam!

this is one of my favorite ring shots EVER!  i love it.

AMAZING limo shot. I also like the dancing in the street.

alphabook!

my bff becky has a couple of CUTE kids…they’ve been on this blog many times, and i’m sure they’ll continue to be on this blog for many years to come! anyway, j recently turned 2, and i thought it was the perfect age to try out a concept i’d been wanting to do. i’m seriously so, so, so proud of this idea/shoot. it turned out JUST how i hoped it would…

i’m only going to include a few teaser spreads, though we did do the entire alphabet. i just ordered the books for these, and i’m SO excited to see them. wouldn’t it be fantastic as a kid to learn your letters with pictures of yourself holding things that are important to your life?

if you’re interested in an alphabook session for your own little one…or know someone who might be, get in touch!  it was lots of fun to do, and it produces a keepsake that j’s own kids are going to enjoy, i’m sure!  (if he doesn’t go all tasmanian devil 2 year old on it and rip it or crayon it…  :-D)

Gwyn, this is GENIUS!!!

That is the most adorable book. Such a great way to help kiddos remember the alphabet with things that are important to them!

LOVE the pictures! What a great idea! I’ve thought of doing something like this scrapbook-style, but I get tired just thinking of it. 🙂 So, maybe J will need a little more time learning the letter “V.”

I LOVE this idea!

[…] me to photograph them just before the arrival of their babies. (you’ve seen becky on here many times before…) yesterday i had the privilege of going to cathedral park with carrie + lance. […]

minstrel!

so…i’m working on updating this here site after the HACKING OF 2010…and in setting up a new header, etc…i’m looking at the images and thinking…dang…i was all over the place!  not quite as much as i was in 2009, but…

i was in TX…

NYC…

boston (chinatown!)…

connecticut…and then again…

maine’s central coast…twice!

pennsylvania…

new hampshire…

key west…

northern mass…

southern maine…

and i ended up my season in nh…close to home. (no seriously portsmouth, dover, kittery brides…call me! i’m totally ok with the 20 minute drive!)

it was a great year…with lots of miles racked up…in the air and in the car. i’m so grateful to do what i do and to get to see so much of the world doing it. lucky lucky girl am i!

Beautiful work, Gwyn!!

under construction

welp…in a delightful turn of holiday events…i discovered some nefarious hackery went on at gwynethcolleen.com…as a result, this place is kind of in a shambles.  at least appearance-wise.  (nothing important has been lost, never fear!)  so, while i am mostly shaking my fist at the nameless, faceless buttheads that thought it would be a good idea to insert their stupid malware into my innocent little website, i’m also just a WEE bit excited for the kick in the pants.  i’ve been wanting to do some updates, and now i’ve got the motivation to do so!  however, it’s a LOT of work, and the next couple weeks are gonna be busy, so…

PLEASE PARDON MY MESS DURING THE CONSTRUCTION!

i’m still here; i’ve still got email/phone/twitter/coconut phone…well, no, no coconut phone, but wouldn’t that be cool?  your photos are still available, and if anyone has any questions, please just send me an email.  i got the contact form set up first thing!
