oplove family session|seacoast, nh family photographer

back in june, i traveled down to charleston, sc to shoot with the fantastic tomme hilton. (yeah, um, i still need to blog about her…because this post isn’t about that.)
i went to charleston via fort bragg, nc (apparently kids these days call fayetteville “fayette-nam.” i’m not sure what connotation it’s supposed to carry, but i’m pretty sure it’s negative, and i’m CERTAIN it’s earned it. it’s not what anyone would call a “garden spot.” anyway…) my good friends roger & gina live there. you’ve seen gina and their blue-eyed daughters before, but now the fam is all together (!!), so we took the opportunity to do a photo session celebrating that.

gina and i did some scouting earlier in the day…and then, in the way these things go…didn’t use ANY OF THEM. but it’s ok! that’s one of the things i really like about this job. learning to let go of the ideas i had and take the situational lemons and make some ROCKIN’ lemonade. or lemon sorbet, or italian ice…or LEMON BARS. mmmmm. (and if it’s morning, i wouldn’t say no to a batch of lemon poppy seed muffins.)

(can you tell it’s almost 1am, and i am…distractable?)

r & g…you know i love you guys, and your little childrens…and i’d even let you set me up again. (but roger, let gina get to know him first next time. :-D)

Interested in the OpLove pictures…I’d like to get some pictures done of my fiance and myself before he deploys to Afghanistan.

Please let me know how I can go about getting some information on this.

puppies on the beach|york, maine family photographer

last sunday, i met april and her guys (canine and human) at york beach for a fantastic photo session.  would you believe the big one…the mastiff…is only 7 months old?!  he’s a whopping 105lbs already, but he’s projected to break the scales at 150-180.  now THAT’S a dog.  he’s sooooo cute, though.

he’s so big you’d expect him to be fearless, but he was FREAKED out by the waves! his big brother was no beach n00b and frolicked with abandon.

what i love about them is that they really are a family, and those dogs really are brothers. waldo (that’s what she calls the big boy) wants to mimic his “big” brother, and is uncomfortable being away from him.

are you seeing the sibling interaction?

(i think this one might be my favourite.)

and of course…THE shot. the one they’d BETTER frame BIIIIGG and put on the wall.

GWYNNNNNNN – I FLIPPIN’ LOVE THESE!!!! Okay, is that a Boston terrier or French bulldog? EITHER WAY I WANT ONE!! Those breeds of dogs photograph SO well! You can’t help but giggle at how it looks like they’re always smiling! LOVE the “shot”! Fab work – especially with animals, which I know can be kinda hard!

thanks gail! he’s a boston terrier. it’s so funny that that’s your reaction. i’m in love with the italian mastiff. i LOVE LOVE LOVE big dogs. (well, as much as i love any dog.)

I love the picture of Dudley alone not up here. But I think the Boston’s faces are so funny expressive. And Wallace aka Waldo is just beautiful. Thanks we love them!

sneak peaks|new hampshire wedding photographer

i’m not sure WHY it has taken me by surprise…i should know by now that may-october or so life becomes a whirling dervish.  but…it still has.  and, of course, heaven FORBID i leave myself a free day or weekend…if there isn’t a pink (work) block in my google calendar, i should probably put a turquoise (personal) block in there…which leaves far too little time for…naps, and other unscheduled things!

anyway, i shot some beautiful and wonderful weddings this month,  so here’s one from each.  i hope that will tide you over.  it’s late, and my sister and nephew are sleeping in the other room, and 11 month olds?  they don’t care HOW late you stayed up…they wake up at about 7am no matter what.  we’re headed to upstate ny tomorrow to see the (grand)parental units.

august 1 was steph & ryan in hampden, maine:

august 8 was erin & tom in sugar hill, new hampshire:

and august 15 was barrett & jason in west roxbury, massachussetts:
